How is semi-dried fresh tomato processed?
The round and smooth tomato is selected for size and ripeness, then cut into 6-8 wedges and slowly dehydrated in the oven for about 10-12 hours. The tomatoes are checked to then select the best ones. Only at this point are they seasoned with oregano, garlic and seed oil (recommended for long-term conservation, because it does not change the organoleptic properties of the tomato).
How does semi-dried tomatoes stay crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside?
The selection and cooking process plays a very important role in the yield of a fresh and pulpy tomato but at the same time crunchy on the outside. Slow dehydration is the real strength of Pomup.
Is Pomup semi-dried tomato pasteurized?
No, Pomup semi-dried tomatoes are not pasteurized. For this reason, you can appreciate the true flavor of tomatoes, soft and meaty inside and crunchy outside.
How long do the jars of Pomup Sicilia semi-dried tomatoes last?
The product is fresh, but it can be stored for 3-4 months in a closed container. If opened, it can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
